Also playing today: A CD I got at the Dublin Castle last night from a female fronted band called 24 Hour Love (I think). Never heard of them before but I saw them last night when I went to see the excellent JOANovARC. They were very good.

I've heard that Inner Mantra track - it's good! The singer sounds like Mike Patton from Faith No More. I think the band are playing at the Underworld this weekend, but I have to miss them again due to a prior engagement.

Hi all, just heard P.O.W. for the first time, a friend of mine had the single, I must say that it's pretty cool. Thought I'd heard it soewhere before, then realised that I'd seen them a while back. Very strange!
In reply to "what are you listening to", I saw a band last week (14th May) at the Marquee in London, they are called Dead Next Door (www.deadnextdoor.co.uk). I bought a promo c.d. they were flogging & I must say that they write some awesome tunes. They are one of the best new bands I have seen lately (along with P.O.W. of course).
Also 2 new bands who are really cool are The Swarmis, I saw them a while back. Dunno if they have a webpage, & The Alternative or The Alternatives, again I saw them about 6 months ago & they were cool.. Definitely check out any of those above..

I wasn't that keen on Black Label Society when I first heard them, but the songwriting and Zak's vocals seem to have improved a lot since their early days. Zak's singing sounds more and more influenced by Ozzy's vocal style these days. Now playing in Dark Towers: The Quireboys - 'This Is Rock 'N' Roll'. I'm going to see them in Harlow tomorrow night.
